Local delicacies
A great way to experience Northumberland is through its food and drink, with a wealth of local delicacies and produce, whether it be less well known delights such as Singing Hinnies or Pan Haggerty or the more famous dishes from the Northumberland Coast like Craster kippers and Lindisfarne Oysters. Let your taste buds explore, there is no shortage of places to eat from friendly local pubs to more upmarket restaurants for special occasions.
And it's not just food that puts our county on the map. From Lindisfarne mead to gins, rum and plenty of local craft beers there is a drink for everyone, right down to a cup of Northumberland Tea.
Why not take a trip to Turnbull's Northumbrian food in Alnwick to stock up on supplies for your stay or head to the newly opened Ad Gefrin anglo saxon museum and whisky distillery.
We invite all our guest to experience the regions rich and diverse gastronomic offerings.
Places to eat
A few of our favourite places to eat can be found not far from Glebe Holidays Northumberland. The well known Running Fox in nearby Longframlington is great for breakfast/lunch or takeaway bites but is probably best known for their afternoon teas.
Looking for a more hearty meal then try the Cook and Barker Inn in Felton. This traditional Northumberland county inn has a great beer garden for those summer afternoons. For farm to table inspired food then consider Adam and Eve in Alnwick. Slightly further afield in Bamburgh lies The Potted Lobster which will delight seafood lovers.
If it's a more dramatic setting you're after then you can't get more unique than The Treehouse Restaurant at Alnwick gardens the largest wooden structure of its kind raised 18m off the ground.
For the ice cream lovers then no trip up the Northumberland coast would be complete without a stop at Morwick Dairy or closer to home Carlo's fish and chip shop in Alnwick.
